Experience of many EU member states and associated countries confirms that professional contact points are essential for a success in such complex programmes as HORIZON 2020.  In order to increase the capacity of the NCP networks in EaP countries, EaP PLUS organizes 6 training sessions for NCPs in the EaP countries during 2018.

In Belarus, the NCP training was organized on 22 February 2018 by the Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Science & Technology (BelISA), EaP PLUS partner in Belarus with the assistance from SPI (Portugal) and the NCP Academy as part of the HORIZON 2020 Week – 2018 (link to the previous news).

The training was provided by Tamara-Katharina Mitiska, Legal & Fin expert from FFG (Austria) and Katia Insogna, former NCP Italy and currently a consultant dealing with private business interested in H2020 and based in Innovative Technology & Science Ltd., UK.

The agenda of the training was based on the outcomes of the NCPs’ needs assessment and included the overview of legal and financial rules, simulation of evaluation by NCPs of a real RIA project and interactive exercises on how to better promote H2020 and communicate with industry.

The participants of the training were 16 Belarusian NCPs in various thematic areas.

The next training of the Belarusian NCP network will be held in spring 2018 at the premises of DLR in Bonn, at the invitation of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany. This action is one of the bilateral activities agreed upon for 2018 by the BMBF and the State Committee on Science and Technologies of Belarus. The details of the twinning visit of Belarusian NCPs to German NCP host organization are being discussed currently by BelISA and DLR.
